"We send up to 70,000 invoices a year to our customers, and with FormPipe LaserNet we can convert each and every one of them into an electronic format, so that they can be sent to the recipients by the customers choice of email, fax in addition to XML: all without operator intervention. Just by switching 20% of our invoices to email delivery we saved several thousand euros within a few months and anticipate a significant return on investment within the year."

These are the words of Morten Hald Nielsen, head of IT in the company PC WARE, the largest supplier of software, IT books and IT courses in the Nordic countries. PC WARE has approximately 30,000 clients, only a small number of whom have chosen to receive documents such as invoices directly into their financial management system, e.g. in EDIFACT or XML formats. So until now, these types of documents have been printed from PC WAREs Navision Attain system on preprinted forms and then sent by post. "But that is too expensive and too slow" commented Nielsen "There was a risk of end of month invoices being received too late for the following months payment run, which meant that were forced into extending credit terms."

"Furthermore, it costs at least 2 euros in paper, postage and manual handling to send an invoice, and with our high volume that amounts to 140,000 euros per year. When we worked out how much it was costing us in extended credit plus the post and handling charges, we were extremely motivated to find an alternative" says Morten Hald Nielsen.
