Who is the new owner of Formpipe Public, and why was this change made?
Formpipe Public is being acquired by private equity funds managed by STG Partners, a global software investor with extensive experience from investing in European companies. Formally, the business is transferred to Sikri AS, a Norwegian company in the STG portfolio, which will be a close operative partner to Formpipe going forward. This new ownership and collaboration strengthen Formpipe’s ability to invest in innovation and long-term value for our customers.
What does the ownership change mean for us as a customer?
Nothing changes in your daily cooperation with Formpipe. Your existing agreement will be transferred in full to Formpipe Sverige AB, a Swedish legal entity, and all commitments, deliveries, and contacts remain the same.
Will this affect my contracts or require me to take action?
No. Your agreements remain valid and unchanged. The only formality is the transfer of your current customer agreement from Formpipe Software AB to Formpipe Sverige AB. We may ask you to confirm your consent for this transfer, but no other action is required on your part.
How is my data handled after the acquisition?
All data continues to be processed and stored in Sweden/EU under GDPR and local law. Nothing changes in how your information is managed.
Does the CLOUD Act apply since Formpipe Sverige AB is owned by a U.S. investor?
The CLOUD Act can apply to U.S. companies and, in theory, to their foreign subsidiaries if the U.S. parent company has possession, custody, or control over the data. In our case, Formpipe Sverige AB – a Swedish company – is the sole controller and processor of customer and citizen data. All data is stored and handled exclusively within Sweden/EU under GDPR and Swedish law. Our U.S. owner has no technical access or legal right to this data. We are legally prohibited from disclosing information without a valid Swedish/EU legal basis, and we have strong legal and organizational safeguards to ensure full compliance.
