Lasernet is a software platform that empowers you to generate business-ready documents from any system - without custom code. It simplifies data integrations, supports smart archiving for compliance and retrieval, and offers flexible delivery outputs across print and digital channels.
Lasernet compliments your existing IT set up to allow you to build, manage, and store all things document from idea to delivery as you go through the document creation process. Let's take a look at the document generation process and see where Lasernet fits in:
At the beginning of the document creation process, you need to manage data. Data can come from different systems in many different formats. But in order to deliver the desired document, you need the data to support it and that data needs to be in the right format. Lasernet works using APIs and other methods such as FTP to accept or retrieve data from your different IT systems, process it, and normalize it in a way that you can use it in your desired formatting.
Next, take the data fields and then identify the type of form that you are intending to create. Generally, there is some sort of business, data, and content logic that dictates the type of form you are looking to generate. As an example, if your organization needs to deliver account statements, your system should be able to extract the right information from your business systems, then automatically route that into an account-statement-format. Lasernet matches incoming data with the appropriate template required to transform it into the desired output. This process works by identifying unique data tags or flags that determine the correct template. These identifiers might be simple labels, such as “account statement,” or more complex markers that include additional fields like language preferences or branding codes.
Now that you have the data and the right type of form, you need to be able to edit and adjust the actual layout of the document. Using Lasernet’s drag and drop editor with DIY or pre-built form templates, you can design your document with the right data fields. With this drag and drop functionality, you can use complex branding requirements like custom fonts, colors, and logotypes either for your organization, or for your recipient.
With Lasernet, you have so many more tools than just a document editor. We have built the engine to solve for real customer needs – like generating QR or barcodes, merging documents from different systems into one, ordered sequence, or even adding in specific branding, marketing collateral or labels based on the documents properties. It doesn’t end there: if you need any sort of computation, calculations, or charts generated – we can do it all. Lasernet is purpose built to not only build documents, but also to enrich them with the types of data, charts or images you need to deliver your message in the most effective way possible.
Once you have your desired document and template ready to go. You will need to deliver it to your customer in the right channel. With Lasernet, it will print your document, either physically send to a printer or export into a digitally ready format, and it will deliver through your desired mechanism. Modern buyers prefer electronic communications, but in some highly regulated industries, they still prefer print or encrypted communications. Yes – some people still use fax. Lasernet will take your document and deliver to customers through smart-rules in whatever method your customer prefers.
Often, simply generating the document isn’t enough. It may need to be transformed into a specific format, such as PEPPOL, so that receiving invoicing systems can process it correctly. It may also need to be routed into another application through a complex protocol. Lasernet is designed with omnichannel delivery at its core—create a document once, then deliver it through multiple channels. Whether that means transforming data into the correct XML format, integrating with additional systems via REST APIs, sending through WhatsApp, or automating delivery into a third-party application, Lasernet ensures your documents reach their destination. Unfortunately, we don’t support carrier pigeons.
Now that the content is generated and delivered, you need a way to store it. Each business has different preferences for saving and storing documents, with Lasernet and Autoform DM (Lasernet’s archive tool) you can generate and archive all within the same suite of tools. Autoform DM can either be used as an internal repository, or document access can be made accessible in any 3rd party system or customer portal using our REST APIs.
Our customers use Lasernet’s suite of functionality for all their document needs, but some customers use it to solve for specific pieces within this document creation process. We have some customers in Dynamics who heavily use the design aspect of Lasernet to avoid costly SSRS customizations. Our Utilities customers use Lasernet’s document generation capabilities to produce millions of monthly utilities summaries. And our highly regulated banking customers use the archive functionality to manage more than 200million account documents. Lasernet’s flexible deployment options allow our customers to only use what they need and give them the flexibility to scale as their business expands.
We have global customers who use Lasernet for many different applications, but they break down into two major categories: customer communication management (CCM) and document management.
Many customers in high volume industries need to produce a LOT of documents. Our customers in the banking, utilities, and finance industries use Lasernet’s ability to create large batches of documents at high run rates. Lasernet can easily generate hundreds of millions of documents fast and then securely deliver and archive those documents in highly regulated industries. These documents can be sent at scale through a whole host of omnichannel methods including, text, WhatsApp, print, or through integrations with 3rd party systems such as Sinch.
Other customers use Lasernet’s design function to deliver highly customized documents to their end customers. Many of our retail and manufacturing customers take advantage of Lasernet’s ability to pull data from any system to generate highly customized sales and marketing collateral, personalized product documentation, or highly complex shipping labels and paperwork including customs-requirements. These customers often have high value complicated documents that they want to tailor to specific needs of their end customers.
Lasernet is very versatile and can be used to solve big or small document challenges. If you are trying to decide what’s right for you, either CCM or document management, check this out and see what fits your needs best: Customer Communication Management versus Document Management.
