Formpipe’s Lasernet Connector for Business Central is officially live and available to customers & partners on Marketplace.
The newly released Lasernet Connector for Business Central gives businesses the ability to quickly and easily create documents, as well as update or tweak existing documents. This includes adding or changing logos & images, incorporating marketing messages, or ensuring that the company brand and vision stays consistent across all communication channels.
Here’s the lowdown on how the Connector can help simplify the way you manage & format your documents.
Easier to tweak
The latest version of Lasernet Connector for Business Central now supports published events that provide a hook-up point in the application. It allows customers, partners and third-party developers to adjust the functionality of the Lasernet Connector, without the need to change any program code, or raise a support ticket to make custom tweaks to the software.
Published events also provide resources for developers to create custom reports on their own, without the need to contact Formpipe. Reports can then be easily distributed across multiple channels, such as print, e-mail, fax, XML, UBL, PDF, etc.
Michael Buch Wibe, a Product Manager at Formpipe who’s been responsible for overseeing the build of the Connector said:
“The connector is of course an entry into Business Central. And the whole idea is to bring some of the functionality from the Lasernet server into the BC, but make it more user friendly.
With BC, our users can also control how a customer would like to receive the document and in what type of format. E.g. Do they want an email with the PDF attached? Or is it any other electronic document, or perhaps a spreadsheet format? All of this, Lasernet can do.”
Improved Document Translation
Document Translation has also seen significant improvements. The new user interface makes it simple to set translations for labels, whilst the ‘Languages Covered’ section automatically displays the number of translations for a label, including highlighting any missed records.
Meanwhile, the ‘Copy Language’ feature makes it easier than ever to add multiple translations, saving you valuable time when localising your documents.
“ If you sell to multiple countries, then you will need to have different documents with different translations. This is where the connector will definitely benefit you as you can easily create import the document into multiple languages, and get it out to your customers.” Said Michael.
Supports 20 different reports
The all-new Report Setup area brings with it even more time saving features, letting you keep all of your report configurations at your fingertips, whilst allowing you to activate a report with a single click. Together with the new Sales Draft Invoice, Lasernet Connector for Business Central now supports 20 different reports.
The Document Preview functionality has also been extended, giving users the ability to preview documents within the Business Central UI or to open them in separate tabs, making it easier to compare, collate or reference your work as you go.
Michael said:
“We provide tools that enables our customers to easily go into BC and add another field on the report and then make it very simple to place it on the output side, as we call it on the report itself. So it's easier for yourself or somebody else without any developer skills to create an invoice or any of the different document types we support, and in the future maintain it. You can really customise it all.”
