Landing your first job as a recent graduate can be challenging, but for Summia Nadeem, it has been an experience marked by growth, responsibility, and success.
Since 2022, Summia has been working as a business consultant at Formpipe Denmark. Here, she has contributed to optimising and streamlining workflows, including those at the Danish Fisheries Agency. At Formpipe, she has found an opportunity to grow professionally while juggling a busy family life.
"It was really big and exciting to land my first job at Formpipe. And a bit nerve-wracking," she laughs.
From day one, she was entrusted with significant responsibilities that both obligated and boosted her confidence. "I was immediately involved in daily contact with clients and complex tasks, which were both challenging and inspiring."
A varied workday
Summia describes Formpipe's culture as unique. It’s a big word, and we delve deeper into what makes the culture at the Ballerup office just outside Copenhagen, Denmark so special:
"You feel seen and appreciated every day. We don't compete with each other; we help each other. This kind of collaborative culture has made me approach my tasks with great dedication and a strong desire to deliver quality solutions to our customers."
Days at Formpipe vary, but a typical day involves a mix of client meetings, user support, and internal collaborations, Summia explains. Working with an agency is exciting, and the close cooperation with the organisations using Formpipe's public grants system, TAS, motivates her every day.
Being so close to the end user and feeling that you are making a real difference in their workday is very meaningful.
AI as part of everyday life
In addition to her daily tasks, Summia has also chosen to be part of Formpipe's internal AI working group, which works on integrating AI into daily workflows to optimise and deliver even better results:
"Being part of the AI group has really opened my eyes to how technology can improve our workflows. We are working on finding ways to use artificial intelligence to optimise our daily tasks. It's exciting to help shape the future of our work and see how AI can save time and improve our results."
A busy life with family and work
Summia is probably not the only mother who sometimes finds it challenging to juggle children's illnesses, packed lunches, AI focus groups, and daily client meetings. Especially considering that her household, besides her husband, consists of three small children:
"I try to find a balance by structuring my time well and prioritising my tasks. In my free time, I love to express myself artistically by painting and designing clothes and jewellery. It helps me find peace and create balance."
The greatest motivation
Summia's greatest motivation is to make a difference and deliver quality solutions to Formpipe's customers: "I get a little kick out of the challenges and opportunities my job contains. In fact, Formpipe's culture inspires me daily – the collective collaboration, curiosity, and pride that permeate our workplace make me feel engaged. It is with a really good feeling in my stomach that I go to work in the morning."
A life motto to pass on
Summia has a life motto. A motto that helps her stay focused and make active decisions, both in her professional and personal life: "The choices you make today determine tomorrow's results." She wants to share this with others.
When the conversation turns to the future, Summia opens up about her plans:
"I want to continue to grow and develop at Formpipe. I want to help shape future solutions and work closely with our customers to ensure they get the best possible service. I look forward to seeing how we can integrate even more technology and innovation into our work."
