Storage independence is a passion for the Digital Preservation team at Formpipe. Too often do our projects start by us hearing the story of an organisation being unable to move from an underperforming or unsupported and expensive system purely because they cannot afford to lose access to their records, documents, objects and data. We appreciate the frustration this can cause and we share the anguish of seeing the wasted cost of this.
Hosted Your Way
Long-Term Archive is designed to deliver storage independence regardless of how you host the product, On Prem or as a SaaS offering. Long Term Archive offers you a digital preservation platform with the controls and functions you require couple with an architecture that acts as a gateway to the storage objects. Clients can structure their system with various different storage locations to mirror the risk profile of the data being stored and utilise low cost storage for low risk information.
Our SaaS product is delivered on Microsoft Azure servers introducing the principles of lower cost, higher security and a scalable storage solution that underpins all Azure services. Our internal team of Azure experts will work with you to design a storage solution that maps your content requirements and you can choose from true cloud to various options on known location or private stack to meet your requirements.
Storage independence also means that you are not beholden by Formpipe. If a need arose to move away from the Formpipe service you would be safe in the knowledge that you have full control over accessing and relocating your objects and data. Too often we hear of clients only being able to exit a system once they have paid exorbitant exit migration fees. We want you to be comfortable when making a decision on long term preservation.
